About Our Farm

Happy Mountain Mushrooms (named, quite literally, after the translation of our owner’s last name) has been operating since 2018 and grows certified organic mushrooms in Colbert, WA. As a woman-owned, grown, and operated farm, we focus on quality and consistency for one basic reason: it makes better mushrooms, and people tend to appreciate that.

Over the better half of a decade, we’ve found ourselves becoming farmers, cooks, and flavor analysts in equal measure. We have a true passion for exploring the unique ways to cook, pair, and use mushrooms, and for talking about it at length with anyone who will tolerate us.
​
We treat our mushrooms as the most extraordinary, fascinating, endlessly complex, and inspiring creatures you’ll ever encounter. We sing to them, confide in them, tuck them in at night, and say our goodbyes at every delivery. Do they care? Hard to say, but we think it translates into mushrooms that taste just a bit more… ours.
We partner with local restaurants, grocery stores, schools, food pantries, food box programs, and supply local CSA boxes. We also have a farm store, where you can grab fresh mushrooms and browse other mushroom goods from our sister company, Happy Mountain MycoGoods.
We keep things fun, we grow good mushrooms, and we find that doing so is a reasonable use of time. We have one guiding principle around here: life is far too short for sad mushrooms.
